Remote Video Editor Position Overview:

As a Remote Video Editor, you will play a critical role in our content creation process. You will be responsible for assembling recorded footage into a finished project that aligns with our vision, ensuring that the content is suitable for broadcasting across various digital platforms. The ideal candidate will have expertise in using industry-standard editing software, be skilled in video production, and possess a creative mindset with a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities:

• Video Content Editing:
  You will edit video content for a variety of platforms, including social media, websites, and other digital channels. The role requires you to work on videos for various formats and styles, ensuring they meet high-quality standards and project requirements.

• Film Sequencing & Assembly:
  As a Remote Video Editor, you will trim footage segments, arrange the sequence of the film, and ensure the project runs smoothly. You’ll use your skills to cut, edit, and sequence video footage based on the provided script and storyboard.

• Adding Audio, Graphics, and Effects:
  You will be responsible for adding music, dialogue, sound effects, graphics, and other visual elements to the videos. Your creativity will play a key role in ensuring that these elements align with the tone and style of the project.

• Creating Rough and Final Cuts:
  Your role involves creating both rough and final cuts of videos, ensuring logical sequencing and smooth transitions between scenes. You’ll work closely with the production team to refine the final version of the video.

• Colour Grading & Visual Style:
  The Remote Video Editor will also be responsible for color grading videos to achieve the desired look and feel. Using software like DaVinci Resolve, you will adjust the color and contrast of images or video, applying a stylistic touch to the footage.

• Collaboration and Communication:
  Throughout the editing process, you will consult with team members, including videographers, art directors, and other stakeholders, to ensure that the final product meets all requirements and specifications.

• Continuous Improvement:
  You will continuously discover and implement new editing technologies, tools, and best practices to maximize editing efficiency and improve the overall video quality.

Requirements:

• Proven work experience as a video editor, with a strong portfolio showcasing your skills.

• Solid experience with editing software packages, including Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve.

• Strong knowledge of timing, motivation, continuity, and the technical aspects of video editing.

• Exceptional storytelling skills with the ability to create compelling visual narratives.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.

• Excellent communication skills, with a focus on providing feedback and ensuring clarity throughout the editing process.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree in Film Studies, Cinematography, or a related field.

• Experience with motion graphics and visual effects to enhance video content.

• Familiarity with 3D rendering and compositing to create more advanced visual elements.

• Knowledge of color grading and audio mixing techniques to enhance video quality.

• Experience with project management tools such as Zoho, Asana, Trello, or similar platforms to manage tasks and deadlines effectively.
